AN 'OUTSTANDING' school is celebrating their continued top rating following their latest inspection.
Ofsted inspectors visited Kingsland CE Primary School, which has held its 'outstanding' rating since October 2007, on March 10 for a monitoring visit.
'Deep dives’ were conducted in three subject areas, with inspectors speaking with subject leaders, teachers, children and parents, as well as looking at lessons and work completed by children.
They also investigated safeguarding measures, provision for children with Special Educational Needs and the impact of the school’s curriculum.
"The quality of education provided is exceptional," the report said.
Inspectors praised the school's 'highly ambitious' educational offer, skilled staff, and curriculum, among other areas.
"Pupils’ experiences go far beyond what they learn in lessons. They have many opportunities to build their confidence and understanding of the wider world. Some of the many include: join a club, take part in a sport, play a musical instrument, participate in a performing arts festival, raise money for charity, exhibit a science project, link with a school in Tanzania. The list goes on," the inspectors said.
As a church school, Kingsland is also subject to SIAMS inspections every five years, the last of which was in March 2018 when they were deemed to be ‘outstanding’ in all areas.
Headteacher Stewart Debenham said: "It just so happened that the children had brought in their amazing science projects on the day of the inspection, along with parents coming in to discuss them during the parents’ show and tell session, and Class 3’s science visit to a farm.
"This was purely coincidental but just demonstrates the rich and vibrant curriculum which happens on a daily basis at the school. Provision is guided by the needs of the children, not by Ofsted.
“To be ‘outstanding’ for the last 13 years, and to continue to be graded as such, requires a huge amount of dedication, hard work, expertise and passion on a daily basis.
"I am hugely appreciative of the immense effort that all our staff and governors do to make the school what it is.
"It is incredibly difficult to maintain ‘outstanding’ provision for so long, through changes of government legislation, new curricular and new Ofsted frameworks, but focusing on the needs of every individual child is what makes this school so special.”
