FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a woman from a river in a Herefordshire town last night.
The water rescue team from Tenbury Fire Station and firefighters from Leominster were joined by paramedics in Leominster to rescue the person.
A Leominster Fire Station spokesperson said a crew had been training at the station when they were alerted to an incident in the river nearby.
"The incident required us to call for assistance from Tenbury with their water rescue capability," the fire service said.
"Crews stabilised the scene, which involved a 25-year-old with a suspected broken ankle, before Tenbury's water rescue team came to assist."
The woman was passed into the care of paramedics for further treatment.
