A MEMBER of staff at Worcestershire Royal Hospital has been found dead at the hospital in Worcester.
The trust announced there was a "tragic incident" on Saturday (July 4) evening in which a man was found dead at around 8.35pm.
Matthew Hopkins, chief executive of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “We can confirm that there was a tragic incident involving the death of a colleague at Worcestershire Royal Hospital on Saturday evening.
"The police were notified immediately.
"We have been offering ongoing support to all members of staff affected as well as the family of our deceased colleague.
"Our deepest sympathies go out to everyone touched by this tragedy.
"We will not be releasing any more information, or making any further comment, at this stage.”
A police spokesman said: "A man was found deceased at the hospital at around 8.35pm on Saturday evening.
"His death isn’t being treated as suspicious."
