TWO more local businesses have thrown their support behind the region’s farmers.
Hereford-based Belmont Farm and Equine Vets and mfg solicitors are both sponsoring categories in this year's Three Counties Farming Awards.
The vets are sponsoring both the Sheep and Cattle categories of the annual awards, while mfg are sponsoring the Family Run Farm category.
This year’s awards are the most successful yet, with record entries in the eleven categories and wide-ranging support from local businesses.
Other sponsors are Avara Foods, Western Distribution Power, Cupid Events wedding company, the Country Restoration Trust, and the Duchy of Cornwall.
The entries this year include inspiring stories of local farming heroes battling floods and helping their local communities through the Covid crisis.
The awards highlight outstanding work and dedication in the local agricultural sector across Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.
- There is still time to enter or nominate someone you think deserves recognition. Closing date is Friday, September 18.
To nominate go to: https://www.herefordtimes.com/awards/tcf/ and fill in the form.
The winners will be announced in a live online broadcast in November hosted by Countryfile presenter Adam Henson.
The president of the National Farmers Union, Minette Batters, will also be providing a special message for farmers during what is an uncertain time.
