AN independent Herefordshire business has built a new outdoor classroom for a secondary school at a hugely reduced price.
Border Oak has celebrated its 40th year by doing 40 good deeds, one of which has been the new classroom at Fairfield High School in the Golden Valley.
The Peterchurch school’s headteacher Sue Gaston said: “We are very grateful to Border Oak for their generosity in building our outdoor classroom at a hugely reduced cost as part of their ‘40 Good Deeds’ to celebrate their 40th year in business.
“As it is made with natural materials, it blends perfectly with our rural site and it could not have been built at a better time, as we are keeping students in year group ‘bubbles’.”
Ben Albright, from Border Oak based Leominster, added: “We too are delighted with how the building looks and how the children are able to make use of it; and are pleased to be able to support the school, particularly in these challenging times.”
