HEREFORDSHIRE Council has warned the county will need further restrictions to slow the spread of coronavirus if cases keep rising.
Herefordshire's coronavirus infection rate in the seven days to October 22 stood at 84.5 new infections per 100,000 people, up from 41.5 in the week to October 15.
The local authority said if this continues rising and passes 100 cases per 100,000, the county would need to be put into Tier 2.
If the Covid-19 risk level in the county was changed to 'high', it would mean household mixing would be banned indoors while the rule of six would continue to apply outdoors.
People would not be able to meet socially with friends or family indoors in any setting, unless they live with them or have formed a support bubble with them.
Up to 15 guests would be allowed at weddings and up to 30 people allowed at funerals, with 15 allowed at receptions and wakes.
Shops, gyms, all education settings, and places of worship would remain open, with overnight stays permitted.
Travel advice for those living in Tier 2 areas is to reduce the number of journeys they take where possible and avoid travel into very high Tier 3 areas.
A spokesperson for the council said: "Our cases are rising. We will need to go into restrictions if we get to 100 cases per 100k.
"Please keep following the basics - wash your hands, cover your face, and make space."
