A CLASS and teachers are in isolation after a coronavirus case was confirmed at a Hereford school.

A member of staff at St Martin's Primary School, Hollybush Walk, Hereford, tested positive today (Saturday).

In a letter to parents headteacher Tracey Kneale said the school in had followed national guidance and all children and adults in the reception class bubble concerned have been isolated for the next 14 days.

In other cases affecting schools and colleges this week, reception class and years one and two at Shobdon Primary School are self-isolating for 14 days.

Headteacher Mary Freeman confirmed the case within the school community in a letter to parents and guardians last Sunday.

The Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) in Venns Lane, Hereford, also said a student had tested positive.

The college said all students from the household bubble are self-isolating in their residential hall. 

Two people at the Bishop of Hereford’s Bluecoat School in Hampton Dene Road have also tested positive.

In a letter to parents, the school said that although it was only one pupil in year 8 who had tested positive, it couldn’t identify their close contacts so the whole year group had to self-isolate.
