A DRIVER who took amphetamines and cannabis before getting behind the wheel has been banned from driving.
John Alexander Wall entered a guilty plea when he appeared before Hereford Magistrates Court on December 2.
The court heard Wall had been caught driving a Ford Focus in Hereford's Bewell Street on May 14.
An evidential blood test revealed the 41-year-old had 715 microgrammes of amphetamine and 3.7 microgrammes of cannabis metabolite delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood. The respective legal limits are 250 and two.
Wall, of Merwald Close, Leominster, was disqualified from driving for three years and fined £120. He must also pay costs of £135 and a £34 victim surcharge.
