FIREFIGHTERS have pulled a man from the river Wye in Hereford before he was rushed to hospital.
Paramedics, a doctor, fire and rescue service crews, and police officers descended on the Hampton Park Road area of Hereford shortly after 4.30pm on Thursday after the reports came in.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called at 4.41pm by the fire service to Outfall Works Road in Hereford, which runs close to the flooded river Wye, to reports of patient in the water.
"An ambulance, a paramedic officer and a MARS (Mercia Accident Rescue Service) BASICS emergency doctor attended the scene," a spokesperson added.
"The fire service rescued one man from the water. He was assessed by crews at the scene before being taken to Hereford County Hospital for further treatment.”

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service added: "One male casualty rescued from the river by fire service personnel near Braemar Gardens.
"Handed over to the care of the ambulance who, along with the police, were also in attendance."
The fire service boat was seen launching from Quay Close, off Hampton Park Road.
The river Wye had burst its banks in the area as a result of heavy rain during Storm Christoph.
The fire service had also rescued an adult and children from a car stuck in a flood in Bridge Sollars, near Hereford, on Thursday.
There were also further callouts to the A438 in the same area as drivers became stranded in floodwater from the river Wye.
