Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics subjects continue to be hugely successful.

Five students have been offered places to read natural sciences and computer science, whilst four students received offers to read biology, biochemistry and in a college first economics and management.

The college has seen a record three students offered places at Oxbridge to study medicine, while many others have secured offers in competitive subjects such as English, History, Linguistics, PPE and Law.

Krystian Bialoskorski, who’s received an offer to study Economics at Cambridge said: “I still cannot believe that I will be studying at the University of Cambridge. I am very proud of myself

"I feel very privileged to be in 20 per cent of people who got offers every year."

Students considering Oxbridge applications have access to the College’s Reach programme, where they receive weekly lessons to prepare them for the rigours of applying to higher education.

Hereford Sixth Form College is also the regional hub for Cambridge’s higher education+ programme, working with partner state schools in Herefordshire and beyond, providing masterclass sessions to stimulate academic interest beyond A Level study.

Vicky Orsmond, creator of the Reach programme, said: “It is so fantastic that, even with the effects of the pandemic, by consistently supporting them with the live delivery of Reach lessons and the development of a dedicated YouTube channel, our students continued to show their brilliance in the admissions tests, and in online university interviews”.

College principal Peter Cooper added: “I want to congratulate all the students, the wonderful staff who teach them and our brilliant Reach team for their fantastic efforts.

"It gives me great pride that Hereford and its surrounding areas punch so far above their weight at a national level.”
