During last year’s lockdown we did the “No Mow” regime in our modest garden in Hunderton and were completely blown away by the variety and beauty of wild flowers that appeared as if by magic, and the number of different bees, moths, butterflies and hoverflies that were attracted to this new “meadow”.
We did cut a narrow path up to shed and around washing rotary drier – the contrast made it look deliberate rather than neglected.
We certainly didn’t miss cutting the lawn and I expect our neighbours appreciated one less mower destroying the garden peace and quiet.
We are members of Herefordshire Wildlife Trust and are delighted to make a positive contribution to the vital Nature Recovery Networks by doing...nothing!
