DRIVERS are being warned of delays in rural Herefordshire as highways teams work to remove a thick layer of mud.
Torrential rain in Herefordshire overnight saw mud wash off fields near Madley, covering the Kingstone and Brampton roads in Madley.
Herefordshire Council said highways teams are working to remove the "thick layer of lying mud", but there it was "likely" there would delays "all day" on Monday (June 7).
The spokesperson warned people to avoid the area, where possible.

Thunderstorms swept across Herefordshire on Sunday evening as the sunny weather came to a brief pause.
Temperatures peaked at 19.8C at Shobdon's weather station on Sunday, before dropping to 8.8C overnight.
The Met Office said Monday would be a cloudy day, with some sunny spells, and forecasters predicting highs of 19C.

Dry and sunny conditions will return on Tuesday for most areas, with the Met Office predicting highs of 21C.
"Cloudier on Wednesday with one or two showers and sunny intervals," forecasters said
"Mainly dry on Thursday and Friday with sunny breaks. Fog patches are likely in prone areas."
