A FIRM favourite on the Herefordshire food scene is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this week.
Born out of a back garden barbecue in 2011, the Beefy Boys started out as a pop-up restaurant and went on to claim top spot in the final round of the World Burger Championships in Las Vegas with their 'Butty Back' creation in 2014, alongside other awards
And they delighted fans when in December 2015 they opened their long-awaited restaurant at The Old Market shopping centre.
Speaking at the time, Beefy Boy Christian Williams said: “We are really looking forward to getting open. It has been a year in the making. It is a project none of us have taken lightly- we are excited and terrified at the same time.
“The new restaurant is due, in no small part, to the support of the people of Herefordshire. We are proud we can open an independent restaurant at the old market development.”
The team have always been keen to use local produce, sourcing their ingredients from producers such as Neil Powell Butchers, Peter Cooks Bread and Wye Valley Brewery, while all of the design and artwork at the Meat Boutique came from Hereford College of Arts graduates.
They recently announced they would be expanding, with a new restaurant in Shrewsbury.
