A TEENAGER has been ordered to carry out unpaid work after attacking another person after a heavy drinking session.
Jack Michael Foster appeared before magistrates for sentencing on June 23 after pleading guilty to assaulting another person, causing grievous bodily harm, in Hereford on June 26 last year.
Magistrates had previously heard that the 18-year-old knew his victim through friends and had been drinking heavily with several others on the day of the attack in Belmont.
Prosecutor Melanie Winterflood said Foster had become angry and had gone to find the victim, knocking him over with a punch to the neck and tripping him up when he attempted to get to his feet.
The victim suffered a fractured jaw and injuries to his arm.
Foster, who was arrested the next day, admitted the attack, telling police he knew he should not have done it.
Foster, of Waterfield Road, Hereford, was handed a 12-month community order and 200 hours of unpaid work. He must also pay compensation of £200, costs of £185, and a £95 victim surcharge.
