CLASSES from a company that appeared on Dragons’ Den this week are available across Herefordshire.

Mini First Aid Herefordshire and Worcestershire run first aid classes for all the family, including children, teens and baby classes for parents, carers and grandparents.

Kate and Matt Ball, directors of Mini First Aid, appeared on Dragons’ Den last Thursday and were successful in securing a £50,000 investment from Dragon and entrepreneur, Sara Davies.

Kate and Matt successfully pitched to the Dragons with help from their children, who demonstrated on each other how to perform abdominal thrusts, using the ActFast Anti Choking Vest, as taught in Mini First Aid classes.

Investor, Sara Davies, said: “Kate and her family gave us a hugely impactful pitch in the Den and I was instantly impressed by her and Mini First Aid.

“I am thrilled that Kate accepted my offer. I’m looking forward to working with her and making our plans come to life.”

Classes from the company are available to residents across the county, with options of private classes that can be booked online or public classes across venues in Herefordshire.

Classes can be booked online via the company's website, www.minifirstaid.co.uk/

Ruth Kettle, who runs company’s first aid training for the area, said: “It’s fantastic for the company to get the investment. It’s vital that in an emergency, people can get the right first aid as quickly as possible.

“We’ve already had so many stories of people who’ve used their training from Mini First Aid to save people’s lives.”

There has also been success for another Herefordshire business that has appeared on Dragons’ Den.

Rayeesa Asghar, who appeared on Dragons’ Den in 2017 with her award-winning brand Spiced by Rayeesa, has been shortlisted for this year’s Great British Entrepreneur Awards.

Rayeesa, a former London Metropolitan police officer, moved to Herefordshire in 2003 and started her Indian cookery school from her home in Mordiford in 2008.

On her nomination, Rayeesa said: “This pandemic has given me time to reflect, remember and react. I've taken time to reflect on how far I've come and remembering what my vision is for the brand.

“This has helped me react positively, despite the many restrictions around me, to dream bigger and plan for an exciting future.”
