A MAN has been fined after spitting on the door, floor, and furniture of a custody cell.
Zac Dylan Jones admitted one charge of criminal damage when he appeared before magistrates.
Jones had been arrested and taken into custody for an unrelated matter in Hereford at 1am on May 31, prosecutor Ralph Robyns Landricombe said.
But while in custody, the 20-year-old became abusive and uncooperative as officers tried to put him in a custody cell.
Once inside, Jones started spitting on the door, floor, and mattress and made offensive gestures as he was further arrested for criminal damage.
Emily Gourley, for Jones, said the labourer did not dispute the case.
"There was no further action taken against him on the original matter and he was frustrated," Mrs Gourley said.
"The spitting was directed towards the door rather than at a person and it was an action of frustration that he now regrets."
Jones, of Beattie Avenue, Hereford, was fined £133 and must pay compensation of £90, costs of £135, and a £34 victim surcharge.
