WITH reference to David Hitchiner's letter (Hereford Times, July 8), although his administration has some good ideas in principle, they are being done in the wrong way.

Mr Hitchiner needs to realise that rather than tinkering around with gimmicks Hereford desperately needs a bypass backed up with a credible plan that's fit for the 21st century.

I have that plan – it's my four-point plan – and if Coun Hitchiner was genuinely serious about reaching out, he would reach out to me so I can present my four-point plan to him.

Rather than being the success story his administration constantly espouses itself as being, his approach has ensured his administration has been an unmitigated disaster. This is symbolised by the 'road closed' sign on Bridge Street.

Under their watch, this city has gone nowhere. We still have the traffic jams and the high parking charges, yet our council tax goes up by nearly 5 per cent every year. To pay for what?

His administration needs to get a grip and fast, or get out and make way for an administration that will deliver for the people of this great city and county.

The choice is theirs.
