HEREFORDSHIRE is bracing for further thunderstorms today after torrential rain brought flash flooding to Bromyard yesterday evening.
A Met Office yellow warning for thunderstorms is in force for the north of the county today and overnight, with forecasters warning of flooding and transport disruption.
The Met Office said heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop through the day across much of Wales and northern and central England.
These will last well into the night and could be prolonged in places, with 20 to 30 mm of rain possible in one or two hours, while a few places could see around 60 mm in three to six hours .
Lightning and hail may pose additional hazards in a few locations.
Yesterday's sudden downpour saw flash flooding in Bromyard, with a torrent of muddy water running through the centre of the town.
The town's Halo leisure centre is also closed again just days after reopening after water made its way through the roof.
