We live in Whitehouse Way, Hereford, which has three open grassed areas and four other areas of grass situated within fencing which surrounds council-owned properties.
On Monday last, two large Connexus vehicles with about four or five operatives arrived and parked on one of the open grasses areas, from where they off loaded their mowers, strimmers etc and proceeded to mow all the grass inside the fenced areas in our road.
I spoke to one of the operatives and asked him if he would also be mowing the grass he was parked on to which he answered in the negative. After they had completed their work they departed.
READER'S LETTERS:
- Hereford stayed stuck while the rest of the county moved on
- My four-point plan to get Hereford going again
- Hereford link road: Someone must be held to account
Much to our surprise, on the following morning two more vehicles arrived from Balfour Beatty, likewise offloaded mowers, and strimmers and mowed the three open areas.
Could Hereford Council please inform us why it takes two different contractors to mow grass some of which is less than five metres apart?
We are baffled.
