THERE are fresh hopes a Herefordshire village will be made safer a device to tackle speeding is installed.
A speed indicator device, which displays the display vehicles are travelling, will be installed soon in the Golden Valley village of Ewyas Harold.
Ewyas Harold Parish Council said the new speed indicator device for Pontrilas Road was ready and would be installed soon.
"Here’s hoping it will make this stretch of road a safer place for all residents," a spokesperson said.
At a meeting on April 27, councillors were told the device had been ordered and should have been installed by the end of June, but this date was pushed back.
Its base had been completed by that time.
Then at the May meeting, Coun Peter Jinman said the device was "very nearly a reality", according the meeting minutes, and it would be in place in months, not years.
