A POST office in Herefordshire has been forced to close after a staff member tested positive for coronavirus.
Bromyard post office said it would be closed until August 19 due to the confirmed case and an ongoing staff shortage.
At the start of August, the branch, in Church Street, warned of staff shortages as the new owners had to leave for India at short notice but remaining staff would "endeavour to keep the post office open".
But two weeks later, on August 13, the post office said a staff member had tested positive and another had to self-isolate.
A post on Facebook from one of the works said: "A member of staff has tested positive for Covid.
"I have now had to get tested myself and have been told to isolate until August 19.
"Unfortunately this means Bromyard post office will be closed until then as there is no one to cover for me.
"Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
"If this changes in the meantime I will endeavour to inform the local community."
The Post Office has been contacted for more information about alternatives, and the mobile service which is run from the Bromyard branch for surrounding villages.
