A HEREFORDSHIRE care home has been chosen as one of the top 20 care homes in the West Midlands.
Brockington House in Hereford has been named as one of the region's best care home's by carehome.co.uk, the UK's leading reviews guide to care homes.
There are 712 homes in the West Midlands with the top 20 receiving an award from carehome.co.uk.
The award is based on reviews of the care home written by their residents, as well as their friends and relatives.
Dormy Care Communities, the overall nursery chain, were also voted among top 20 small nursery groups in the UK.
The review score was calculated using a combination of the number of reviews, the average of each of the ratings and the size of the care home.
Care homes were excluded from the awards if they were not compliant with their regulatory authority at the time of the announcement of the Awards.
The homes were rated on: overall standard, facilities, care/support, cleanliness, treated with dignity, food and drink, staff, activities, management, safety, security, rooms and value for money.
Wendy Westbury, of Brockington House, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have received this award which is a true testament to the care and support our teams deliver.
"It is an absolute privilege to be able to support so many ladies and gentlemen and we are hugely grateful that family and friends have taken the time to submit these reviews and share their views on our homes enabling us to be recognised for this."
Amanda Hopkins, reviews manager of carehome.co.uk, said: "We now have over 200,000 reviews of care homes on carehome.co.uk so we are able to give people a real insight into what a care home and its staff are like.
“Reviews of Brockington House show they provide a high standard of care and we would like to congratulate them on being a Top 20 care home. It is such a big achievement to be named as a top rated care home by the residents who actually receive the care, as well as their family.
"Choosing a care home can be emotionally and physically exhausting so we hope our awards which are given to the highest rated homes will help make the search easier."
