A MAN stole more than £140 worth of meat from Hereford supermarkets, a court has heard.
Daniel Jones entered a guilty plea when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford.
The court heard the 34-year-old had stolen nine packs of meat worth £90 from Hereford's Marks and Spencer supermarket on August 2.
He also admitted stealing four packs of meat worth £50.86 from the city's Bewell Street Tesco on the same date.
Jones, of Eign Road, Hereford, was handed an 18-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £90 compensation to Marks and Spencer and £50.87 to Tesco. He must also pay costs of £135 and a £22 victim surcharge.
