A PLUME of black smoke has been seen rising into the skies over Herefordshire as an "intense fire" involving gas cylinders and petrol broke out.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said crews were sent out to Whitney-on-Wye to tackle the blaze, which "engulfed three outbuildings very close to houses".
Crews from Kington, Kingsland and Presteigne were sent to the scene after the alarm was raised at 6.24pm on Sunday (September 5).
Firefighters from Kington said the heat from the inferno was melting guttering on the nearby house, and windows smashed.
