A PETROL station in a Herefordshire town has temporarily shut for a month as its given a major makeover.
Texaco on the A44 in Bromyard, formerly Bishop's, shut on September 6 but said it hoped to reopen on October 7.
The petrol station's makeover was set to include a revamped sales building, with the demolition of the existing retail area and reworking of internal layout, planning documents submitted to Herefordshire Council showed.
Council planners agreed to those changes, as well as two new pump islands being installed and an extended canopy, as they granted planning permission.

They showed the shop front would be fully-glazed, with automatic sliding door, and metal framework would be painted white to match existing.
On its Facebook page, Texaco Bromyard said it would be open longer, from 6am until 11pm, when work was complete.
The shop would be CostCutter and it would sell alcohol, National Lottery tickets, Costa Coffee, have a new food to go offer, and a wider range of "everyday products".
There would also be extra car parking spaces and an electric car charging point.
Linton Motor Services, based behind the petrol station, remains open for business during the works.
