THE new chief constable for the police force serving Herefordshire has released a video to introduce herself.
Pippa Mills said she was excited to be starting her new job and had been drawn by the "family feel" of the West Mercia force, which also covers Shropshire and Worcestershire.
She said: "We're here to keep people safe and work with partners to solve problems within our communities, to reduce and prevent crime and harm.
"It is truly a privilege to be entrusted with leading such a professional, compassionate and courageous team of people who are so dedicated to putting the public first."
Ms Mills, who has formerly served with the Met and the Essex forces, is West Mercia's first female chief constable.
She has said previously that she is “incredibly proud” of her appointment.
She was chosen for the role by police and crime commissioner John Campion after it was announced Anthony Bangham was retiring.
