ROADS around a north Herefordshire village will be shut for up to 47 days while fibre internet is installed.
The Fastershire project around Birtley, north-west of Leominster near Wigmore, is due to start on September 27 and six lanes will be shut as part of the works, with diversions signposted locally, Herefordshire Council said.
Brunts Lane will be shut for 16 days from September 27, and Grove Lane for 12 days from October 28.
The C1006 from Letton to the C1007 via Newton would be shut for four days, the public notice said.
The C1007 would also be shut from the C1004 junction to Grove Road for five days, and the C1004 from Boresford to the C1007 for 10 days.
The longest closure as part of the fibre installation will be of the C1007 from Birtley Close to Upper Kinsham Farm for 47 days.
Standard broadband is delivered over copper wire. Fibre broadband is different because it uses faster and more reliable fibre-optic cables.
