AN ATTACKER who showed a 'flagrant disregard' for court orders has been handed a suspended sentence after telling magistrates he wants to address his behaviour.
Robert Atkin entered a guilty plea when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford.
The court heard the 28-year-old had been drunk and disorderly in Hereford's St Owen Street on August 18.
He also admitted assaulting a woman, causing her actual bodily harm, in Hereford on August 28.
Atkin, of Whitecross Road, Hereford, was handed a 20-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, an 18-month restraining order banning him from visiting or contacting his victim, and 150 hours of unpaid work.
Magistrates said that although he had shown a flagrant disregard for court orders, and that it had been an unprovoked attack of a serious nature, the sentence had been suspended as he wished to address his offending behaviour and said he will comply with the community requirements of the order.
He must also pay compensation of £200, a £50 fine, and costs of £30.
