The British Horse Society statistics state that nearly 2 horses are killed each week on UK roads between 2019-20.

1,037 incidents have been reported, an 81% increase over the previous year, 80 horses and one person have died as a result

81% of these incidents occurred because cars passed too closely to horses. 40% occurred because vehicles passed by too quickly.
