ROADS in Herefordshire are due to shut over the next four weeks as drains are investigated.

Herefordshire Council contractor Balfour Beatty Living Places said 10 roads around the county would be shut during its works programme, which started on September 27.

The closures were needed because of possible danger while drainage investigation work was being carried out.

The C1273 Ross Road in Brampton Abbots will be shut for three days from September 27, with the C1166 from the A465 to Lower Roxpole Road in Stoke Lacy shut for two days from the same date.

The C1196 from Rose Cottage to Cornerstone in Madley would shut for two days from September 29, and the near C1098 for six days from October 1.

From October 4, the C1273 Farmhouse Track would be closed for three days, and Goodrich Stopgates in Marstow shut on October 11.

On the same day, the C1203 road to Monnow Farm in Longtown will close for three days, and week later Rams Corner in Little Cowarne would be shut for one day.

The last two roads to be close will be the C1195 from the B4348 to Woodfield Cottage in Peterchurch for three days from October 18, and Lower Easton in Leysters on October 25.
