LATEST figures show how coronavirus is affecting each age group in Herefordshire – with one reaching a record high.
Public health statistics released by the government show the rate of people with at least one positive Covid-19 test result per 100,000 population in a seven-day period.
The data shows the 10 to 14-year-old group has the highest infection as of September 23, and it is the highest it has ever been.
It means a record number of people in that group have tested positive for Covid.
The infection rate for the week to September 23 was 3965.9 cases per 100,000 population, with that number never having risen above 1,000 until September 9.
The most recent figures also show high infection rates in other age groups, including 694.4 for 40 to 44-year-olds, 1,453.6 for 15 to 19-year-olds and 931.7 for five to nine-year-olds.
The infection rate for older groups is lower, with no groups over 50 seeing an infection rate of more than 300 cases per 100,000 people.
The table below shows the coronavirus infection rate for each area in Herefordshire, and how it has changed over the past month.
Several secondary schools in Herefordshire have confirmed coronavirus cases among pupils, including the Bishop of Hereford's Bluecoat School, Hereford Academy, Wigmore High School, Weobley High School, Kingstone High School and John Masefield High School.
