A VODKA thief failed to turn up to court after he was released on bail, a court has heard.
Jason Dufty entered a guilty plea when he appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster.
The court heard the 30-year-old had stolen two bottles of vodka worth a total of £40 from Leominster's Co-Op supermarket on June 26.
He then failed to surrender to bail at Hereford Magistrates Court on July 21 after being released on police bail on July 7.
Dufty, of Church Street, Kington, was handed a 12-month community order and must carry out a six-month alcohol treatment programme. He was also fined £76, and must pay compensation of £40, costs of £135, and a £95 victim surcharge.
