NEW speed limits are set to come into force on roads in two Herefordshire villages as the council tries to improve safety.
Herefordshire Council said it was planning a 40mph limit for the A438 in Bridge Sollars, west of Hereford. The national speed limit applies at present.
The speed limit, if proposals are passed after consultation, would be in force through the village.
Acting assistant director for highways and transport Mairead Lane said the speed limit would prevent danger, preserve and improve the amenity of the village and ensure safety, including for those trying to access local businesses.
The same reasons were given for a new 30mph limit in the nearby village of Tyberton on the B4352, C1195 and U75400.
