A HEREFORDSHIRE man has been jailed after attacking a police officer.
Adam Smith entered a guilty plea when he appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster.
The court heard Smith had assaulted a police officer acting in the course of his duties by beating in Ross-on-Wye on June 18.
The 29-year-old also admitted breaching the terms of a 12-week suspended prison sentence imposed by magistrates in Hereford on March 2, 2020, for assaulting three police officers by beating on December 26 2019.

Magistrates said the offence was serious as it was committed against an emergency worker and as Smith was subject to a suspended sentence order for like matters at the time and activated the suspended sentence.
Smith, who is of no fixed address, was also handed a further four weeks in prison for the assault and must pay compensation of £100. No victim surcharge was imposed to allow compensation to take priority.
