A ROAD in Herefordshire is closed for safety reasons after a bridge was hit.
Herefordshire Council warned that the C1122, between Marden and the A49, was closed due to the damaged bridge.
The council's contractor Balfour Beatty Living Places said Laystone Bridge was "closed for safety" after the bridge was struck "again".
Pictures from the scene showed substantial damage to the stone bridge on the country road, called Orchard Green.
No timescale was given as to how long the emergency road closure would be in place for.
The bridge, across the river Lugg between Leominster and Hereford, appeared to have been hit by a vehicle.
