A FELINE intruder at a Herefordshire primary school has been identified.
On Saturday, police officers responded to an intruder alarm that had been set off at Staunton-on-Wye Primary School, west of Hereford.
As it turned out, the culprit was a cat who had been locked in the school.
Officers joked on social media: "I think they've found their intruder. #catburglar"
It has been revealed that the cat is called Maze and belongs to Sophie Nutton of Staunton-on-Wye.
Ms Nutton said Maze is an adventurous, one-year-old, tortoiseshell-coloured cat.
She said that Maze often wanders off to the primary school and enjoys the attention of the schoolchildren.
It seems, she said, that Maze had sneaked into the school on Friday afternoon or evening and had been accidentally locked in the school overnight.
Since the incident, Maze has returned home but has not been put off her wanderings around the village.
