THE speed limit on a major road through a Herefordshire village is set to be cut to 20mph.
Herefordshire Council revealed plans to ditch the 30mph restriction through Pembridge, and introduce a 20mph limit in its place.
The council proposed the A44 between Leominster and Kington, and all minor roads in the village, would have the limit.
Acting assistant director for highways and transport Mairead Lane said the speed limit would prevent danger, preserve and improve the amenity of the village and ensure safety, including for those trying to access local businesses.
She said the order would come into force on Friday (October 15).
