A PETROL station in a Herefordshire town has reopened after undergoing a major refurbishment.
Texaco on the A44 in Bromyard, formerly Bishop's, is back open with an extended shop – four times the size it used to be.
The Costcutter shop, a chain which has a supply deal with Co-op, sells a larger range of products than what was previously available.
The petrol station's makeover included a revamped sales building, expanding across what used to be the car sales showroom of Bishop's business.
Part of the plans, approved by Herefordshire Council, also included two new pump islands and an extended canopy, but that work was not carried out at this stage.
SGN Limited recently took over the bypass garage and set about making the changes, with a premises licence to sell alcohol previously granted by Herefordshire Council.
The plans showed the total floorspace of the shop would rise from 43 square metres to 184 – four times as much as it used to be.
On its Facebook page, Texaco Bromyard previously said it would be open longer, from 6am until 11pm, when work was complete.
Alcohol, National Lottery tickets, Costa Coffee, a new food to go offer and a wider range of "everyday products" are now sold there after the reopening on October 8 – a month after temporarily closing.
Pictures from inside the revamped garage show the extended range of products in store, with more car parking space available after the work.
