A FARMER could be facing a loss of more than £20,000 after criminals targeted land near Hereford.
West Mercia Police said it was searching for a red Volkswagen Polo which officers thought could have been involved when several hundred yards of silage cover was slashed.
The criminal damage in Brinsop, which happened sometime between 4pm on Sunday (October 10) and 10am the next day, could end up causing a potential loss of more than £20,000 for the farmer, police said.
Officers said the heavy duty plastic covering was slashed for several hundred yards, causing the maize silage to seep out.
The VW Polo was seen close to the area, just outside Credenhill, which they said could have been connected.
Anyone with information was asked to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 00597_I_11102021.
"It is only by the police and the public working together that we can prevent and detect crime," PCSO Christina Howard said in the appeal.
