HALF term is just around the corner and many families will be looking for activities to enjoy.

Eastnor Pottery

On October 26 and 27, Eastnor Pottery, near Ledbury, is holding fun and creative sessions for families.

Children and parents will have the opportunity to create their own "half term hedgehogs".

The Courtyard's Family Festival

On October 27, Courtyard's family festival returns from 10am onwards.

There will be movie-magic-themed performances, workshops and activities for families to get involved in.

Courtyard's own resident orchestra, Orchestra of the Swan, will be performing family film favourites at 1am and 3am at the venue in Hereford's Edgar Street.

Hideous Histories

Newly launched by Visit Herefordshire, Hideous Histories is a new guide that can be downloaded and enjoyed as self-guided adventures for families visiting or living in Herefordshire.

It tempts families to explore the 'darker' side of the county, its ruined castles, ghastly ghosts and fearsome folklore, spooky caves and centuries of bloody deeds.

Oaker Wood

Oaker Wood's holiday kids club for 7-12 year olds returns this half term from October 26-29.

Each day is different and children participate in up to four different activities

There are high ropes challenges, including the 100m zipwire, gladiator climbing challenge and monkey climbing.

Pumpkin picking and carving sessions

From October 25-31, The Nest in Ledbury is holding pumpkin picking and carving sessions.

Also on offer are alpaca visits, monster hunts, rocktober paintings, and other chills and thrills.

Circus Workshop

On October 28, Wye Circus are holding a day of circus skills workshops.

This includes a morning of grounded circus skills and an afternoon dedicated to aerial skills.

Tricks to learn include plate spinning, flower sticks, diabolo and aerial hoop.

The event takes place at the Wye Circus CIC in Plough Lane, Hereford.

Kids at the Court

Barton Court in Colwall are offering children the chance to come to the court to relax, de-stress and have fun.

Activities include kickboxing, yoga, outdoor building dens, mixing mud pies and treasure hunting.

Parents have the opportunity to book children in for a day at the court on October 26, 27 and 28.

Steam up Tuesday

Waterworks museum in Hereford is running a special open day on October 26.

Engines and pumps will be running throughout the day.

Visitors can interact with full-size devices for lifting, pumping, moving and filtering water which have been used down the generations

Usual activities will be available including the children’s Play and Learn Water Park and the Frog Trail for younger children.

Big Wild Walk

Herefordshire Wildlife Trust tackle the nature and climate emergency by challenging people to take part in the Big Wild Walk this October half-term.

Between October 25 and 31, the trust are asking nature lovers to fundraise for the wildlife trusts around the country, as they embark on their mission to protect at least 30% of land and sea for nature by 2030.

In honour of their "30 by 30" goal, they're challenging people to walk 30km over the half term week, over three days or in one day.

The Witch's Kitchen Trail

Visitors to Weir Garden, in Swainshill, have the chance to search for missing ingredients hidden around the garden to help create a Halloween-inspired potion.

This family trail runs throughout Halloween half term, from October 23-31.
