In a statement Mr Fry stated that his hobby was to search land with his metal detecting device which searches at or below ground levels.
On July 31, he found the three silver Roman coins with Mr Wilcox.
The items were registered with the British Museum and Kington Museum have expressed an interest in the items.
The three silver Roman coins were determined as treasure by Herefordshire coroner Mark Bricknell.
To be classified as treasure Mr Bricknell said the coins had to be more than 300 years old and have a metal content of over 10 per cent.
He said that the coins were thoughts to be dated circa AD 114.
Mr Bricknell said he was satisfied that the coins qualified as treasure.
