A SCHOOL in a Herefordshire village has safety concerns about its pupils as trespassers cause problems.
West Mercia Police said St Mary's CE Primary School in Credenhill, near Hereford, had reported that people had been drinking alcohol on the school site and leaving rubbish behind.
PCSO Christina Howard said the school, in Station Road, was worried children might hurt themselves on rubbish left behind.
The most recent incident was believed to be on Sunday or Monday evening.
PCSO Howard said school leaders were having CCTV cameras installed "at an expense that they do not need" so any future incidents would be captured.
Police could then see the footage taken at the school, which has around 170 pupils, and "act".
"Potentially youths are involved – possibly ex-pupils who know the area – and they have gone there in order to shelter from the rain/cold etc," PCSO Howard said.
"Fortunately, no damage has been done, however with alcohol involved there is a chance that this could escalate further in the future.
"As you can appreciate, the school are worried about this incident as they do not want the children to hurt themselves on any of the items left behind."
In the public message, she added: "If you have any teenagers or young adults living with you, could you please speak to them and make sure that they are not involved."
