HEREFORD bakery has won a prestigious award for one of their baked goods, beating many other bakeries from around the country.
Nizi Bakery, in St Owens Street, Hereford, is an artisan bakery which opened in 2019, selling authentic sourdough breads, delicious pastries, and savouries, as well as biscuits, crackers and granola.
Owners David Nizi and Jane Nizi won a silver award for their buckwheat crackers in the recent Cheese Board Awards held in Staffordshire.
The awards are part of the prestigious long-running international cheese and dairy awards that celebrate the finest quality in all products that accompany cheese.
The awards took place at the Love Cheese Live event held in Staffordshire in October.
Nizi Bakery entered the biscuits and crackers category with their buckwheat crackers and are thrilled to be one of just three award winners in the category.
David Nizi, owner of the bakery said: “We wanted a cracker that could be eaten with a wide variety of cheeses, and at the same time, something that could be enjoyed on its own.
“The crackers are already a firm favourite with our customers, and we can’t wait to bake as many as we can for the festive season.”
The recipe and concept for these crackers evolved from the feedback of customers and the bakery use eco-friendly packaging for the crackers.
The cracker is also gluten free and suitable for vegans.
The bakery is selling a cheese-board inspired hamper or gift ready for Christmas, which can include their award-winning buckwheat crackers.
