FROM driving with no MOT to failing to comply with road markings, drivers have been up before the magistrates after breaking the rules of the roads.

Wayne Albert Mitchell was proven guilty by magistrates in Worcester.

The court heard the 45-year-old Volvo driver had failed to comply with solid white markings on the A438 in Herefordshire on April 1.

Mitchell, of Dymock Red Walk, Hereford, was fined £220 and received three penalty points. He must also pay costs of £90 and a £34 victim surcharge.

Henry Charles Downes was proven guilty by magistrates in Hereford.

The court heard the 32-year-old Transit van driver had been caught behind the wheel with no MOT after contravening a no right turn sign at a junction in Hereford on April 14.

Downes, of Portna Way, Leominster, was fined a total of £440 and ordered to pay costs of £90 and a £44 victim surcharge.

Colin David Staley entered a guilty plea to magistrates in Llanelli.

The court heard the 50-year-old had been caught driving a Ford Transit van without a seatbelt on the A438 between Three Cocks and Glasbury on June 3.

Staley, of Watery Lane, Hay-on-Wye, was fined £146 and ordered to pay costs of £90 and a £34 victim surcharge.
