STUNNED onlookers have been left scratching their heads after a car ended up over the railings in a hospital car park.

The silver Land Rover Discovery Sport was lodged over the railings at the car park outside the oncology department at Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester.

Matthew Hopkins, chief executive of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “Hospital colleagues were able to take care of the driver after the accident.

"Our estates team acted quickly to assess the situation and ensure the site was safe for patients, visitors and our staff.”

These pictures were taken this afternoon and show stunned drivers look on as the car precariously hangs off a ledge.

It has managed to break the railings around the car park but its rear wheels are elevated in the air.

Barriers have been placed around it to keep people safe.
