TWO more people have died at Herefordshire's hospitals after testing positive for Covid-19, latest figures from the NHS shows.
The NHS England data showed the Covid death toll at the Wye Valley NHS Trust, which runs Hereford County Hospital, stood at 252 on Tuesday (November 16).
That was two higher than a week before when 250 people had died at the trust after testing positive for Covid-19.
But separate figures from the NHS showed that the number of Covid patients being admitted to hospital in Herefordshire is falling.
The latest figures also showed that 13 new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in Herefordshire in the week to Sunday, November 14.
The week before, that number was 23, and a fortnight ago it was 28.
The data also showed 22 patients were being cared for in hospital by the Wye Valley NHS Trust, which runs Hereford County Hospital, on Tuesday (November 16).
That was five fewer than the same day the previous week (November 9).
With a few exceptions, tighter visiting restrictions came into force last week at all of the trust's hospitals amid rising numbers of cases on wards and in the community.
It was to help "protect patients by reducing the risk of someone bringing Covid onto the wards", a spokesperson said.
