A ROAD connecting two villages near Hereford will be closed for almost two weeks later this month as work to install new fibre broadband continues.
Herefordshire Council said the C1098 would be shut between Madley and Bridge Sollars from December 6 to 18.
As part of the Fastershire project to deliver faster internet to homes in Herefordshire and Worcestershire, Airband Community Internet Ltd would be carrying out the work.
The council said it would include testing rod and rope systems, where fibre cables are connected to houses underground, as well as cabling, blockages and jetting works.
Due to the likelihood of danger to the public, the road needed to be shut, the council said in a public notice. Diversions will be locally signposted, it said.
