FIREFIGHTERS from across Herefordshire have been battling a major blaze at an industrial estate over the border in Worcestershire.

Crews were called to the Hoo Farm Industrial Estate in Kidderminster, with around 100 firefighters battling the fire at its height.

Speaking yesterday (December 6), a fire service spokesperson said: "The fire is in a single storey-building, around 120m by 60m with 30 per cent of it involved in the fire on the arrival of the first crew."

Crews from Herefordshire are among those who have been called to the blaze.

A spokesperson for Peterchurch Fire Station said their water carrier was called to Hoo Farm at 11.09am yesterday morning.

"Working with colleagues from across our service, Shropshire and West Midlands Fire Service we established and maintained water supplies to the fire ground for several hours to enable crews to tackle the flames," the spokesperson said.

Firefighters from Ledbury Fire Station were also in attendance at the fire overnight.

"There is a large amount of hose, water and vehicles being used in the area so please be safe when driving around the industrial estate," a station spokesperson said.

"The crew have rotated personnel and been present since Monday morning, while still maintaining their fulltime employment when off scene.

Firefighters from Kingsland were also on scene. They shared this video showing thermal camera footage of the devastated building.

"Many of them have worked through the night and gone to work the next day."

Crews are still on scene this morning, with a number of road closures in the area, while West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that no-one has been treated for any injuries or health issues in connection with the fire.
