PUPILS at a Herefordshire school have been praised for their 'outstanding work ethic' by inspectors.
The Elms School, based on the Herefordshire border in Colwall, has had a report by the Independent School Inspectorate (ISI).
Inspectors found: "Pupils’ attitudes towards their learning are extraordinarily positive and supportive; they have an outstanding work ethic and take ownership of their own learning.
"Teachers are excellent role models, and detailed communication between staff ensures that planning for the broad range of needs is detailed and personalised, resulting in excellent outcomes for all pupils.
"Teachers have created a safe learning environment where it is acceptable to express concern or anxiety, and the extensive grounds and easy proximity of the school farm give pupils time and space to re-set their mood if they are feeling stressed or anxious."

Chris Hattam, headmaster at The Elms said he was 'absolutely delighted' with the findings of the recent inspection.
"This is a tremendous testament to the hard work and commitment of our staff, pupils, parents and governors, especially in these challenging times," he said.
“We take a unique approach, with equal importance bestowed upon academic skills and preparation for a fulfilling life as part of a community.
"It is heartening to see that the ISI has recognised the excellence in both delivery and outcomes of our methods and acknowledges the success our pupils achieve as a result."
