FRIENDS of missing ex-nurse Janet Edwards have told of their concerns for her and described her as a very happy and bubbly woman.
The Wye Valley Runners club and others similar groups led a search from Churchill Gardens, at the top of Aylestone Hill in Hereford, for Ms Edwards, who went missing last Friday (December 10) at 3pm.
She has not been seen since, and specialist police officers, police dogs and volunteer search and rescue groups have all been involved in the search.
The West Mercia Police search team has also in attendance at the gardens, wanting anyone with information to come forward.
Nikki Tyler, a friend of Ms Edwards and a member of Wye Valley Runners said clubs had pulled together as a community.
"It has been a very upsetting time for us we are all very shocked," she said.
"Pulling together and be proactive has made us a lot stronger, we are looking for positives." she said.

The groups are going in different areas searching today (Friday), a week since Ms Edwards went missing.
Ms Tyler added: "Jan was a very happy bubbly character. I was with her the day before she went missing and she was planning ahead, planning to race, looking forward to Christmas with her family.
"We just hope we can find something positive and bring her home for Christmas."
The group has been handing out and putting up posters with photos and information of Ms Edwards, with the keen runner and ex-nurse last seen in the area around the colleges.
The running group hopes this will raise awareness and that will lead to someone coming forward with information.
Friend of Ms Edwards and Wye Valley Runners member Becky Ansfield is also very worried about her.
"She's been missing for a week now and it's become really worrying and concerning," she said.
"Most of us know her through the running club, I've known her for 17 years now and this is just completely out of character for her. We just want to find her and know she is safe and well.
As a person, Ms Ansfield said Ms Edwards is absolutely lovely.
She was a nurse at Kingstone surgery, so she has always been sociable, bubbly, lovely person, said Ms Ansfield.
She added: "Whenever I would see her, she would always ask after my boys and the dog and has always been very positive."
With races, she has such a great drive and encouraging to others, she said.
Many people took time off work to be at the search today, said friend of Ms Edwards Nicola Goodwin.
On Wednesday (December 15), police released new CCTV pictures from the last known sighting of Ms Edwards, which was in Dunelm, in Holmer Road, on Friday morning.
Enquiries are ongoing, as are searches, in an effort to locate Ms Edwards, who was last seen wearing a green Raab jacket, blue jeans and casual brown boots with a white trim and sole.
The club and police are asking anyone who may have seen her or have information to come forward and contact the police quoting incident reference 00654_I_10122021.
